4 Weeks

I went to Florida. I spent time with my beautiful cousin and her fiancée, now husband. I saw my gorgeous aunt, and the Uncle I hadn't seen in 20 years. We played in the ocean, we ate seafood, we laughed and were goofy and had wonderful adventures.

Four weeks ago, I had major surgery. Yesterday, my Mom went home. She'd been with me, helping me get back to the everyday parts of life.

I've lost somewhere between 35 lbs (what the scale says) and 40 lbs (my doctor thinks this is closer to reality).

My life is very different now. I'm on restricted food, as my body figures out the new rules that happen when organs are removed. Going out for 45 minutes exhausts me. Going out for 2 hours requires naps. Visiting with friends has been nice, but costly.

I have a wonderful husband who is supportive and caring. Trying to find my way with things I've never had before - incredibly strict dietary restrictions, a scar that required over 40 staples to close. I confess that it hasn't been the easiest thing in the world, but every day I get a little more vibrant, a little more back to me.

Thank you for the cards. For the hellos - electronic and otherwise - and the support. Thank you for helping me get back to me. Much love to you.
